“These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honour when Jesus Christ is revealed.” 1 Peter 1:7 NIV

We are looking forward to 2021 and gathering again for MTCC Easter Convention. Our theme, “Forging our Faith” looks to investigate how our great God shapes and refines our faith to become more like Jesus. Join us as we hear from Rev Dr. Gary Millar and Dan Paterson and as we gather together to praise out faithful God.

Rev Dr. Gary Millar

Gary has been the Principal of Queensland Theological College since the start of 2012. After studying chemistry in his home city of Belfast, Gary moved to Aberdeen in Scotland to study theology, before completing a D.Phil at Oxford on Deuteronomy. Gary worked as a pastor for the next 17 years in both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland and was involved in both church revitalization and church planting, before moving to Brisbane to lead the team at QTC.

Gary travels widely throughout Australia and beyond, seeking to encourage local churches. He is also the co-founder and Chair of The Gospel Coalition Australia. Gary is married to Fiona, and they have three daughters, Lucy, Sophie and Rebekah.

Dan Paterson

Dan is a former speaker with RZIM and the current founder of Questioning Christianity. After serving as an ordained Baptist pastor for 7 years, and after working at Malyon College leading the Traverse Centre and lecturing in apologetics, Dan joined the team of RZIM in 2015. He has spoken regularly to audiences across the belief spectrum on how the gospel connects to life’s biggest questions, and on the popular objections to the Christian Faith. He is married to Erin, and with three young sons, Dan loves reading, coffee, movies, the outdoors, and Australian Rules Football.

The annual Easter Convention is a highlight in the life of the MTC.  It has been a regular event for more than 60 years and has encouraged many Christians in their faith. Many have enjoyed camping with their families over the Easter long weekend in a mixture of ensuited rooms, dormitories, tents or caravans.  Learning together as they sit under the ministries of world class expounders of the Bible. Enjoying worship together as they reflect over the true meaning of Easter and making new friends as well as catching up with old ones.  Easter Convention provides programs for all the family with a balance of age appropriate activities and bible teaching. Come join us at Easter Convention.
