Seniors’ Get-Away is our premier event for over 60s. Bible teaching, hymn singing, top quality concert and of course food & fellowship fit together to encourage and inspire all who attend. Come and stay or visit for the day. We are looking forward to hearing from Simon Manchester and Murray Lean this year. For more details contact Jim & Grace Vine 0407 743 483 or email jim.v@mtcc.org.au.

Rev. Simon Manchester studied at Moore College in Sydney. He served and studied as curate under Dr. Dick Lucas at St Helens Bishopsgate Church, reaching the city of London’s business community. At the end of 2019, Simon and Kathy retired after 30 years at North Sydney’s St Thomas’ Anglican Church where he served as senior pastor. In addition to his weekly sermons and bible studies, Simon has had a significant ministry on Sydney’s Hope 103.2 radio station, and is a much appreciated speaker at Katoomba Christian Convention, CMS Summer Schools and a variety of opportunities designed to reach sophisticated urban Aussies.

Rev. Murray Lean retired from full time pastoral ministry at the end of 2020. Prior to that he was the senior pastor of City North Baptist Church in Brisbane for the past 19 year, having previously served as a rural pastor and part-time GP for many years in Central Queensland. Today he serves on the National Council of the Gospel Coalition in Australia. Sadly he lost his wife and faithful ministry partner, Debbie, to cancer in 2010. This has been a deep journey into the theology of suffering and the love of a God who doesn’t make mistakes. Murray has 6 adult children and 10 grandchildren. He has a deep love for the local church, with a passion to see it built up through consistent Bible teaching, and mobilized for gospel ministry.
