Panorama Redevelopment

The beauty of Mt Tamborine Conference Centre, the amazing land and space ordained for Christian witness and use in the late 1950’s, has been the scene of many great Bible teaching events organised not only by MTC but by many other Bible focussed organisations.

Whilst we have an amazing site that speaks so clearly of the Creator’s skill, our accommodation no longer meets convention needs and community expectations. In order to continue to be relevant into the future, we need to take action now. As part of our standard operations, we have routinely asked for feedback on our programs and accommodation, to which you have repeatedly told us that our accommodation needs to be updated and modernised.

Currently the Mount Tamborine Convention (MTC) Board is considering what a future redevelopment of Panorama Homestead could look like.

To date, along with our architects, we have held visioning sessions to test proposals that canvas what aspects of Panorama can be maintained and enhanced, along with new build options to complement the existing footprint.

Plans and proposals have been tested, firstly with our membership and key stakeholders, then more broadly. What we can tell you is that the proposals are very exciting and represent a quality retreat centre, which will be relevant well into the future.

A main focus of the redevelopment will be the inclusion of accommodation, suitable for wheelchair and disability access. Key to future proofing the accommodation is provision of ensuites and flexible room layouts. The architects have taken into account the natural beauty of the site which is reflected in the design proposals. It is planned to build following the contours of the land with the built environment blending with the surroundings looking out to the rainforest behind Panorama.

How can you help?

There are many ways you can help the convention see this project into reality:

  1. Please pray with us that through this process we can discern what God wants for this magnificent site and let us walk by faith and not by sight.
  2. Encourage your church or organisation to book a retreat and stay at one of our sites. By doing so you help provide much needed funds for the upkeep of our beautiful properties.
  3. Get away and relax, book one of our chalets and have some ‘mountain time’.
  4. Financially support the redevelopment process. There will be many costs to be incurred including architects, surveyors, specialist reports and development application.
  5. Contact us on 07 5545 1419 or ceo@mtcc.org.au to discuss how you can help support this vital project to keep Bible Teaching ministry alive into the future.

Thank you for walking with us as we jointly seek to ensure Mt Tamborine Conference Centre remains relevant and a place of inspiration, until Jesus returns.
